In today’s fast-fashion industry, synthetic dyeing processes rely heavily on petroleum chemicals and toxic heavy metals that pose severe health risks. Our 6-Step Ayurvedic Dyeing & Processing Workflow
1. Pre-Processing & RFD
Eliminates natural impurities, pectin (yellowish matter), waxes, and starches from spinning. Pre-processing prepares raw cotton yarn or fabric, making it Ready For Dyeing (RFD) without harsh chemical treatments.
2. Eco-Friendly Desizing
Uses natural plant surfactants like soapnuts to reduce surface tension. Fabrics are immersed for 24 hours to safely dissolve sizing materials, ensuring a chemical-free and eco-friendly preparation stage.
3. Natural Alkaline Scouring
Utilizes natural alkalines (pH > 9) sourced from timber wood ash and banana cultivation waste. Boiling fabrics in this organic bath washes out deeply embedded impurities for maximum bio-absorbency.
4. Selection of Natural Mordants
Employs organic plant tannins (myrobalan, jathi leaves) and natural minerals (alum) to lock shades onto fibers permanently. Specific formulas ensure optimal herbal pigment absorption and wash fastness.
5. Kashayam Extraction & Dyeing
Boils a precise blend of over 15 medicinal herbs—such as turmeric, tulsi, and pomegranate—in controlled water baths. Raw RFD fabric is immersed directly into the live Kashayam to infuse botanical wellness.
6. Natural Fixing & Herbal Softening
Unfixed dye particles are rinsed using natural spring water. To overcome stiffness, organic castor oil and coconut oil treatments are applied to deliver a soft texture and luxurious hand-feel.
